What kind of floor prep work needs to be done?
The first step to achieving a durable bond and a smooth, attractive finish is professional preparation. We will repair any cracks, pits, gouges, and spalling. If necessary, we’ll shot blast or grind the concrete to level the surface and completely remove any previous coatings. The preparation process concludes with a thorough cleaning and vacuuming of the concrete.

Prep time can vary significantly based on the condition of your existing concrete. Generally, most projects take 1 to 2 days to prepare, clean, coat, and cure before you can move items back in.

While we appreciate DIY efforts, epoxy flooring is best left to the professionals due to the potential for complications. Proper surface preparation, selecting the right layers, determining the correct thickness, ensuring each layer is evenly applied, and allowing adequate curing time are all critical steps that require professional expertise.
How long does an epoxy floor last?
With proper preparation, professional installation, and regular maintenance, epoxy flooring can have a longer lifespan than most other flooring options. In demanding industrial environments, it can last 8 to 10 years. In office spaces and moderate commercial settings such as garages, basements, schools, hospitals, and showrooms, epoxy flooring can last up to 20 years if resealed approximately every 5 years. In residential areas, with consistent cleaning, maintenance, and resealing, the lifespan can extend from 15 to 30 years.
